You Are Not Alone, I Will Never leave You
Where Do We Meet Jesus?
Eileen Renders
We all may meet Him in different places, such as at the Altar when receiving Holy Communion. But of course, to meet Jesus at the Altar and partake of His precious body and blood as offered up in His Crucifixion for our sins, we must be free of sin through the sacrament of Reconciliation. We can certainly go to Him in prayer, and He promises that He hears us.
However, going to Jesus in prayer with requests for ourselves or our family may or may not be answered. When Jesus does answer our prayers, it is in His time, not ours.
In contemplating all of the above information, we can see that there are conditions regarding how and when we can best or properly go to Jesus.
Therefore, for reflection, let us take a step backward and contemplate how we can best meet Jesus, deepen our relationship with Him, and sometimes be given our answers through Jesus speaking to our hearts.
It is the way that Jesus calls us to Him, remain free of sin, work to serve Him through acts of kindness to others, follow the Commandments, frequent the sacraments, and He will say to you, “I AM in you as you are in Me.” This will deepen our relationship with Him. We can go to Him any time of the day or night, and know that He is near. After receiving the Host, we may even feel His presence.
Moreover, Jesus will acknowledge His pleasure in your being, and will be able, then, only when we remain in the state of grace, to gift us with many graces and blessings as He desires to give to us. Some of those graces may include: joy, wisdom, peace, compassion, and more.
Jesus is calling, He is calling you and He is calling me, He is the Good Shepherd, and He wants to protect His sheep from damnation when we stray and fall victim to the Evil One!
