Is it Good Sense to pray for the enemies of America in 2024?
When you hear his Voice open your heart to his Truth
In a society of absolutes we must trust our sense of beliefs on more than feelings. How easy it can become for any of us to think that the word from the Holy Spirit is something that tickles our dreams of splendor. That might have been what Judas Iscariot thought when thirty pieces of silver for revealing the location of Jesus was an answer to an easy day on the job. He felt good until he realized his choice was his condemnation; yet it fulfilled scripture prophecy that would send God’s Son to the Cross.
I said to them, “If it seems good to you, give me my wages; but if not, let it go.” And they counted out my wages, thirty pieces of silver . But the Lord said to me, “Throw it in the treasury, the handsome price at which they valued me.” So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the treasury in the house of the Lord. (Zec 11: 12 - 13). This prophet is a type of Christ whose mission is salvation to his people. Thus Judas was receiving the price for Jesus’s worth as one sent by God. Although the Pharisees saw him as a blasphemer.
Then one or the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the Chief Priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?” They paid him thirty pieces of silver, and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over. (Mt 26: 14 - 16).
Listen to Isaiah as we dwell upon the voice of the Spirit through his Word; Comfort, give comfort to my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her service is at an end, her guilt is expiated. Indeed, she has received from the hand of the Lord double for all her sins. A voice cries out, In the desert prepare the way of the Lord! Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God! (Is 40: 1 - 3).
Like a shepherd he feeds his flock; in his arms he gathers the lambs, carrying them in his bosom, and leading the ewes with care. (Is 40: 11).
The Word of God, Christ his only Son, announces from the Cross the ransom for all sin, yours and mine, small and large, and this is the very Truth that we find in the Paschall Mystery. It is here and no other vestige of memories will have the very promise of the Truth of God’s forgiveness. Throughout the Sacred Scriptures God’s Truth calls out to those with mercy who have discovered a different way to salvation that promises an eternal loss of the Holy Trinity.
We cannot seek an unfamiliar whisper that promises nothing more than total loss of our soul, that comes from the mouth of the devil; Satan himself. He wants nothing more than to convince us that he is a god of distrust, disbelief, and lies over everything Christ accomplished at Calvary.
This is Truth and the Word of God, Jesus Christ, is the voice in our hearts.
