Help is on the way
How many times have you promised yourself to do better? To not give in to those nasty habits that pull yourself away from the Holy sight of God? As many as they are, you will notice, that God's love and mercy and strength never fails us. He picks us up as we lay on the ground and gently stands us up erect so we can try again. The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Constant Prayer and Confession and receiving of His Precious Body helps us conquer these vices, one by one. I believe, He seeks for us, not so much perfection, but the "desire to recognize" our imperfection and correct it. To teach us, that it is only through His help we may achieve our final goal of Heaven and the correction of these vices we struggle with daily. We must always remember that God is a wonderfully merciful God. We must strive to listen to His voice and take heed of His gentleness and love for us. Unlike the evil one, whose quest for each soul is to be sent to hell, Our God's quest is to welcome us in Heaven. We will always stumble and fail quite a few times. But we must never ever get discouraged or feel hopeless. God is all courage, all hope. When we see ourselves fail in certain bad habits we must pray for forgiveness and strength to conquer the evils that lie within each of us. God is watching. Standing beside us. We are His children and He is our Father. The devil knows right where to punch us, but the salve that Jesus and Mary apply to our wounds is healing and loving. The infinite blessings we incur upon ourselves through a true and Holy Confession is just that salve. It heals our wounds. There is no greater doctor than our God who reigns in Heaven, sitting on His Almighty Throne, ready and waiting to help us, to hold us and greet us, with loving arms, as we behold His perfectly beautiful face and bow before His Majesty. He knows our hearts. He knows the flesh is weak, but oh! The Spirit that dwells within us! Strong as a raging bull! Fierce as a lion! Yet gentle as a lamb.
Come Holy Spirit, come. Bind up our wounds and help us as we ascend the ladder to Heaven.
