Catholic Things to Do During Super Bowl Party
During an audience as part of the Jubilee of Hope, Pope Leo XIV announced the date for World Youth Day Seoul and its theme. He carried on the baton that was handed off by his predecessor, Pope Francis, who had announced the event in 2023, which was held in Lisbon.
The dates for World Youth Day Seoul are August 3rd to 8th, 2027. It will mark more than three decades since this large gathering has set foot in Asia. The last time was in Manila in 1995.
“After this jubilee, the ‘pilgrimage of hope’ of young people continues and will take us to Asia,” the pontiff said in a message before praying the Angelus at the University of Rome Tor Vergata,
“I renew the invitation that Pope Francis extended in Lisbon two years ago,” he added, referring to World Youth Day in Portugal in 2023.
In announcing the theme for the upcoming gathering, he felt that it was needed in the faith of the new generation of Catholics. The theme will be: “Take courage, I have overcome the world.” The theme is taken from John 16:33.
The time to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage is now.
