Four Walls, a Soul and God
Stop treating Him like an emergency exit when He’s meant to be your foundation.
We live in a world that runs to God only when the storm hits.
When the diagnosis comes.
When the job is gone.
When the marriage is on the rocks.
And yes — our God is a refuge in trouble. The Psalms sing it loud: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).
But if the only time you seek Him is when your world is collapsing, you’re not walking in faith — you’re walking in panic with a cross around your neck.
God is not your backup plan.
He’s not the emergency exit you push open when the building’s on fire.
He’s the foundation beneath your feet that keeps the flames from touching you in the first place.
Faith was never meant to be an occasional visitor in your life.
It’s meant to be the address you live at.
Not a hospital you check into when you’re sick — but the daily bread that keeps you alive.
Some people pray like they’re making a distress call to 911. But Jesus didn’t die just to be your rescue team — He died to be your reason for living.
When God is your first thought, not your last resort…
When prayer is your lifestyle, not your lifeboat…
When His will is your daily GPS, not your detour sign…
That’s when you’re truly following Him.
Because here’s the truth:
If God is only your Plan B, you’ve already placed something else as Plan A — and that “something else” will fail you.
Every. Single. Time.
So today — make Him your starting point.
Let His Word be your roadmap, not your roadblock.
Let His presence be your oxygen, not your fire extinguisher.
And when the storms come (and they will)… you won’t be running for the exit.
You’ll be standing on the Rock.
The Lord is not your emergency exit — He’s the house you never have to flee.
