We Never Learn

We Never Learn

When will we ever learn

To give to others our turn

To not always want want want

But instead give away not shunt

But alas we never seem to get it

That what’s here stays always put

Instead we go off constantly trying

To become the richest before we’re dying

Does it bring happiness

No I surmise only utter despair and sadness

For money will never make you joyful

But our Lord and His Way are truly hopeful

Turn to Him and give up on wealth

And all the worldly pleasures and required stealth

Pray instead each day

Maybe give something away

To those less fortunate

That’s what truly is most important

Amen
