Pondering the Box turtle
Before we get started, please read my previous article (and share it)! I thougt it was an important thing to write about, given the sheer amount of people who've been through the same thing. Please share this article, as well! A letter to a great Christian woman
One thing that I can verify, is that I'm not very good at loving my enemies. I mean, I know I don't hate them, but, a lot of times, I feel a huge sense of betrayal.
I know that there is a possibility that these people that have hurt me don't feel that way. But, the fact of the matter is, I do.
So, while I'd rather not have any enemies, and I don't think most of these people actively want to be my enemy, sometimes, people just, well, end up being more hurtful than they should.
I don't know what's with the hesitancy to talk things out.
We're either always arguing or going to blows, and, for, whatever reason, we can't be diplomatic.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes, there IS a time for war (Ecclesiastes 3:8), but, why are we always at enmity for people we love?
I was thinking about this the other day, because, I was having a little of trouble praying for someone who really hurt me.
And I did it anyway.
Remember; “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those that hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you”. (Luke 6:27-28), that doesn't mean we forget those who've hurt us, but, it DOES mean we forgive those who hurt us.
(Matthew 6:15).
