Coldplay Affair and Reminder on 6th Commandment
Sandy Hook, Boston Bombing, 9/11, abortion, school shootings, and high crimes all have one thing in common: society abandoned God. Each also showed that the perpetrator had no regard for human life whatsoever.
Tragedy has once again struck the United States, and it occurred at Annunciation Catholic Church. The school community was gathered for Mass to mark the beginning of the new school year when a gunman opened fire. Two children were killed while several were wounded by a lone gunman who claimed to be a woman but is a biological man named Robert Westman.
Westman, who uses Robin to claim trans status, was willing to carry out a violent manifesto to go kill people, as he had notebooks on his plans.
It is common to ask the question, “Why?” and I’m with the many who have to ask the question, as some will not know how to answer it.
We will never know why this happened. Yet, over the last six decades, we have seen the fruits of what happens when God is abandoned.
Ronald Reagan frankly warns, “If we forget that we are one nation under God, then we are a nation gone under.” What happened to the 19 lives in Minneapolis was a tragedy. It is inexcusable. Sadly, the seeds of secularism and people abandoning God show what can happen.
America needs to return to God with her whole heart, mind, body, and soul. It begins when God is back in our lives daily. God must be back in our schools. God must be back in our government to strike fear in our public servants. God must be in the public square.
God must be fully alive in all of us. When America realizes that it is a nation under God, then our land will prosper.
Let us strive to bring God into our daily lives while also remembering victims of godless acts of violence.
