There is a famine of Courage
There's something about water that is so beautiful! It washes everything so clean! We wash our cars from the grime of the streets. Clean! We wash our dishes from the evening meal. Clean! We shower life's dirt off of our bodies. Clean!
When the rain falls, every little drop has a purpose. Whether it's to lull us to sleep, or wash the sidewalks of the hundreds of treading shoes that walked back and forth all day. God is good! He thought of everything. He knew its purpose for creation was to help things grow for our benefit. To feed us, to quench our thirst. Just like His love. His love quenches the thirst inside our souls and prepares us for cleanliness that can only become by the washing away of our sins. The Holy Waters of Baptism started this Wisdom and only flourishes throughout our lives. Keeping us clean.
There's nothing more refreshing on a hot Summer's day, then a big drink of ice cold water. Nothing more satisfying than the clean body after the soapy bubbles are slathered and the rinse comes from the faucet dripping over our heads like the Holy Spirit descending upon us when we lift our eyes and souls to our God and receive the cleansing Grace of His forgiveness and love.
Let the rain fall down from Heaven and wash us clean.
