What is the difference between something that could be and another that shall be?
Why haven’t I heard from God?
A typical cry from many who only call out to the divine when they find themselves at a point of disaster. But here is when the Lord hears us more than at any other time. It can become a plea that may seem to go nowhere because the hurting persons are not in sync with God. Although most of us appear to understand that God wants to answer the needs of his children he cannot seem to get past the rampart on the callers’ intentions. The other side of a delayed answer is the manner in which the expected prayer is built around, the time of completion and the exact quality of the needed request.
James told his listeners, “You ask but do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.” (Jas 4: 3). God resists the proud, and gives to the humble. (Jas 4: 6).
It isn’t as though God doesn’t hear the plea of many but he cannot be taken for granted, either. Even those who are close to God may find that some prayers for other people might hit a stone wall if the request is for one who has no intention of turning to God and becomes a false believer. “Not everyone who says to me; “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive our demons in your name?” Then I will declare to them solemnly, “I never knew you. Depart from me you evildoers.” (Mt 7: 21 - 23).
We are at a crisis situation where hypocrisy has reached the point of more than disbelief in the teaching of the Church; it has now placed God in a kaleidoscope of laughing at every turn that seeks an evil response to a deity that denies righteousness and promotes every kind of sinful pleasure that is Satanic and destroys the faith of good people.
The likelihood of evil-minded persons asking God to answer prayers is not a reality. It is the apostates that have drifted away and perhaps have realized that their ignorance has awakened and are turning back to the Church. These will have a hearing from Christ and the blessings needed shall become real and complete with his grace.
This is why when anyone asks us to pray for them, especially when we are already close to God, we should never become a judge as to their intentions. Only Christ will be the one to decide who receives his blessing.
A good answer to one who asks us to pray for them is, “Let us pray together” since, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.” (Mt 18: 20).
This not only answers their desire for prayer, it shows that you or I care enough to consider them by becoming part of their need and sharing God’s Love with them.
