The Father and The Son
What is it that means the end of something is imminent?
After a pre-planned amount of time has arrived one can retire from many years of work. For some it may appear to be a relief from drudgery or the only way to subsist in life. For others the last day at a demanding period of events can become a graduation from listening to someone who controls your every movement while being with them 9 to 5.
For a few who look at the past years of demands on your time might very well be a period of growth that prepares you for what God had already planned as your next move of becoming a saint in his kingdom of evangelization for what Christ did for all of us. We cannot ascribe the benefits of waiting to venture into the next level of our mission that the Lord already has prepared us for. However, since he has placed our particular requirements of specific talents needed for our impending ministry there is no concern for us to worry about our success in it. When God calls us to follow his Spirit, whatever will be needed will already be at our hands
I can reflect on the various mishaps that caused me to not go through different things which would have deterred the direction to the ordained ministry. As each one of the past events made me look weak or a non-player in a direction that others had their hearts set on, God was directing the events to ordain me to the diaconate. It is here or similar activities that God will use to complete his plan to place a retired worker into a new field which is in his divine plan.
The end of anything only becomes detrimental when there is no positive continuance of God’s plan to keep our faith strong for us and those we shall meet with the grace of God. After the Ascension of Christ and his commissioning the apostles to reach out across the world making disciples of all nations (Mt 28: 19 - 20). he ascended to heaven and sent His Holy Spirit to them and us on Pentecost.
Anticipating our eventual end of human life should never become a crisis in our minds since only when each one of us completes the plan of God’s efforts to use us as his hands and voice to reach the many people of the world by preaching, writing, and exemplifying the grace of God through our own faith. When we have accomplished this the end will come for us.
