What Did She Say?!!
Everyday, someone deals with the deep grief of knowing a loved one has died. Maybe even being there as that last breath is taken. Sometimes, the death is from a horror. like the recent death of Charlie Kirk, or the children at Mass in a church.
Perhaps this dear person is someone you know and love dearly--a spouse or child.
Whenever someone sees that grieving person, their first words usally are: "I am sorry for your loss."
Dear people; when a person dies who believes in God--they are not lost! No, they are with their Lord and all the loveds ones too-who have gone on before them. They are NOT LOST!
Perhaps, it would be better to say then --"I share your grief and sorrow--but I also share your belief --they are now safely "Home."
Help that grieving loved one to see that dear "love one" as not gone: but out of sight--forever in the heart and mind. Encourage them to realize that they are NOT resting peace--but soaring like an eagle on high. Flying from one fantastic part of God's creation all over the world. Seeing all the wondrous creatures, their eyes have never been able to see before!! See them chasing sunsets all over the world and sunrises from mountains high!
When I die, or my spouse dies--I want all to know what great rejoicing there is as we enter into His gates and are being welcomed by all waiting for us there!!
Death is not our end, but our beginning of one resurrected life, free of pain and sorrow and no longer nailed to the cross we took up to follow Jesus. Our cross of pain, struggle, anger, hate, and bitterness we encounter daily.
As we age, by our crosses----we are sanctified, purified and made ready! As we carry that cross. God is there with us to help us along our path to our journey's end. Always!!!
So, never say, "I am sorry for your loss." Say instead, "I understand what sorrow you must be feeling. God and I are here with you now to be with you in your hour of need."
Hugs and actions --not words---say all they really need to hear in their hours of need.
We do not DIE---but we are forever alive!!! So, see all in a forever joyous, happy life, feeling a peace like never before. THEY ARE WITH US ALWAYS, in our hearts, mind and spirit too. For they are now forever one with God on high. THEY ARE ALIVE!
