Where is your joy?
Belief in Jesus is an all or nothing matter. You either belief or you don’t. Some try to water down Jesus and take what they like and ignore what they dislike. Belief in Jesus is not a buffet where you can pick and choose. Yes, there are those growing in their faith in Jesus and that is a great thing, but this has to do with those comfortable in a middle ground that does not really exist.
If we believe that Jesus is God and He taught us the way to live, we should very well live by that way of life. If we did not believe, it makes sense that we would not live according to His teachings. Believing in Jesus and not trying to live the way that Jesus taught makes no sense.
In Revelations, the church of Laodicea was told, “I know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, ‘I am rich and affluent and have no need of anything,’ and yet do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. Those whom I love, I reprove and chastise. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.” – [Revelation 3:15-17, 19]
The lukewarm are more rejected than even those cold to God. That sounds ridiculous, but they are living out their belief. It may be a false belief, but at least they are living it out. The lukewarm are not living it out.
Another issue that I am reminded of is abortion. If a pregnant woman has a living human being in her womb, there is no way to justify abortion. If a pregnant woman does not have a living human being in her womb, then there should be no restrictions upon abortion. Making exceptions for age, disabilities, among others makes no sense. If the pregnancy would kill the mother and thus end the life of the baby, that exception seems like the only logical exception for those who believe in the living child in the womb.
