A dark cloud that hangs over the heads of some
What Type of Savior can we expect from the Lord?
A lion, a Lamb? An executioner, an angel? How is it that the Creator of everything is treated as a common criminal, tortured, beaten one stroke less from death, nailed to a tree and scorned before all.
Are you kidding? Or creating a Halloween epic for us to turn away from after laughter and looking for more entertainment from another stage play?
Looking into eternity, the essence of our salvation, and realize the Son of God, the creator of everything we have always was the Lamb of God; a shepherd who never lost sight of his sheep. Psalm 23 the signature poem that emphasizes what our Savior is all about; “The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I lack. In green pastures you let me graze; to safe waters you lead me; you restore my strength. You guide me along the right path for the sake of your name. Even when I walk through a dark valley, I fear no harm for you are at my side; your rod and staff give me courage. You set a table before me as my enemies watch; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Only goodness and love will pursue me all the days of my life; I will dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come.” (Ps 23: 1 - 6).
If there are questions as to what our Savior is like, this Psalm 23 should put all doubts from our minds as we see this picture of hope, courage, and assurance that our Savior always was looking after us in spite of any failures we might have.
How can any human being ever fear that the evil of one person, the devil himself, or his demon followers, become the answer to where our safety to our souls comes from. No where else in Sacred Scripture is there any doubt that we are sheep and we have a shepherd who is the protector from the moment he created us. We were not created to be nomads wandering in the desert without a vision of anything more personable than a shepherd watching our every step so as to not fall into a hole of no return.
The Lamb of God; always watches over his flock who will slip away in the darkness and become lost in eternity except for the Light that is God that will dismiss the darkness of evil from our sight.
From the grace of the Cross; (Ps 22), the guidance of our walk through the valley of the Lord; (Ps 23), and the Glory of the Lord- Lift up your heads, O gates; rise up, you ancient portals, that the king may enter. Who is this king of glory? The Lord, a mighty warrior, the Lord, mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O gates; rise up, you ancient portals, that the king may enter, who is this king of glory? The Lord of hosts is the king of glory.” (Ps 24: 7 -m 10).
