The Mystery of Tithing-Part 2
Repentance From Evil
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
In my last article, “A Call To Christian Action”, I wrote about people rejoicing about the death of a political or religious opponent. This is sick and pure evil in its vilest form. It brings to mind a passage from the Book of Revelations where the two witnesses are slain in Jerusalem. People rejoiced at their death also. Now all men of the cloth, that is priests, bishops, archbishops, cardinals, and the Pope along with ministers of other religions ask that we like they should repent of our sins. By repentance, I mean that we should acknowledge our sins, be forgiven by sacramental absolution if Catholic, resolve never to commit this evil again, and try to make amends to the people we offended. If you are non-Catholic, you must follow the precepts of your own religion. The last part of repentance which is making amends to the people we offended may be quite difficult due to the amount of time that has lapsed since the offense was committed or the distance of their mutual locations.
Thank God, there is something called prayer. We should always pray for the people we offended. We will never know if our prayers ever reach these people, but, we leave these prayerful intentions in the hands of God. God will surely direct those prayers where they are needed most to do the greatest good according to his divine will.
As I mentioned earlier in this article about the deplorable behavior over the death of an opponent, I thought that I would not live to see the day when this actually occurred. Are some human beings degenerating that quickly to such adverse behavior? If human beings are degenerating that quickly, then there is another profound question to ask. Are we in the time of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? That question should give us pause for thought. We cannot stop the Second Coming, but we can vote for candidates who are in agreement with our moral and ethical values. Do not be afraid to instill your moral values on our Society.
Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Deo Gratias. Gloria Tibi Domini. Laus Deo. See you in Paradise.
