For Someone Else

Go on get out of here you miserable no good bum

Lazarus tired afflicted addicted and more looked glum

His days upon this stoop soon over

His much need rest our Lord would cover

But that evil owner the purveyor of pride

His day too coming and not such a good ride

Squandering his wealth on secular prizes

His upcoming demise will bring awful surprises

For Lazarus he will make it to Heaven with his honesty

That rich fool he will greet Satan and that’s not funny

For his foolishness has gained him eternal fire

Reaching out to Lazarus to no avail for the relief he does desire

This was only a parable that our Lord left us

Or was it our reality and its time to become serious with our Lord Jesus

Time to end our secular ride or else

Our Father’s Hand is being held out not for us but for someone else

Amen
