The Holy Spirit
Critical Message To All Catholics
Eileen Renders
Before sharing the following message, I want to relate something that led me to this time in life when I write for Christ through His inspiration. Fortunately, I studied my teachings from the nuns of Saint Joseph. And recalling how we were being prepared in Second grade to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion, my Class had to prepare through studies, and were “tested” in our understanding of the sacraments and our faith. As I recall, and imprinted on my brain, the most important question was, “Why did God make you”? The answer was and is, “God made us to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world, so that one day, we could be happy with Him in heaven.” It felt as though I repeated that question and answer a thousand times in my head, and it never left me.
What did Jesus Christ say about serving the Lord?
Matthew 9:37 – The harvest is plentiful, but workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
John 1:12 – But to those who did accept him, he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name.
For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God. He does not ration his gift of the Spirit. The father loves the Son and has given everyt(Acts 18:9)hing over to him. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys, the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him. (John 3:34-36)
“Do not be afraid. Go on speaking, and do not be silent
Matthew 22:14 – Many are called, but few are chosen. God is saying how we are “all called” to serve the Lord, to evangelize, and to help return his sheep to the flock (church), and to remain with the good Shepherd. God calls all of us, yet only a remnant are chosen to serve Him. Why is that? Not all of us are ready and equipped to serve God. Perhaps some are not sincere enough, have not spent time alone with Christ to be able to hear His call, and therefore, are not inspired. In such instances, we may not be able to fulfill a commitment to serve God without His inspiration, His unique graces of wisdom and understanding?
We are all called to be disciples of God, to evangelize. Some will sing His praises through song or music. Others will teach, serve the poor, visit Nursing homes, or be a writer or speaker. We are not asked to become preachers and forecast doom for one’s wicked ways, nor to judge anyone. Evangelizing is to remind God’s people of the truths of what God wants to give us, yet they have not heard His call.
Peter 3:15-16 – Always be prepared to answer everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
Romans 10: 13-15 – For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? And how can people preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring (the) good news!”
