Suffering towards greatness: A love story!
-Oscar Wilde in The picture of Dorian Gray
As of today, the Ozempic-drug family is not FDA-approved for kids. However, big pharma and certain pediatricians are working to change that. A new Journal of American Medical Association, Pediatrics article argues that GLP-1 receptor agonists such as Ozempic, Wegovy, etc.; could be used on kids to improve blood sugar, weight and blood pressure. There are caveats.
Medicinal-Malnutrition for Minors. Literature suggests subjecting growing, pubescent kids to a lifelong, controversial hormone with no exit strategy. Researchers do not address how they affect long-term growth and puberty in this new social experiment for children. This temporary fix comes with muscle mass wasting, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, acid reflux, pancreatitis and even thyroid tumors. Why normalize a lifetime of chemical dependence in kids with massive rebound effects upon discontinuation. Especially if safer and more healthy, organic modalities exist?
Follow the Science. To be fair, this post does not apply to extreme outliers. However, this is a slippery slope. While some disagree, this band-aid approach to weight loss in adults, is failing. Mainstream media does not share the snowballing adverse events that we are seeing. Any quick fix that ignores the laws of nature are unsustainable. It's the principle of cause and effect--we reap what we sow. Abuse is mirrored in long-term health and well-being. It is the law of the universe and the law of God. If all legitimate religions promote moderation, irresponsibly-used hormones cannot make us healthy nor holy. History shows, societies that neglect basic fundamentals, become extinct.
Hormonal Heresy. Newton's #3 law mandates that every wave has a void; weapons with thrust require back-blast areas and Band-Aids cannot cure bullet wounds. Nature doesn't lie and causes need to be addressed. Mainstream media and direct big-pharma ads want us to abet gluttony through magic medicines. Hormones that paralyze the stomach and inhibit caloric absorption--especially in growing kids--may break the 1st & 5th commandment. This equates to idolatry of gluttony and pride over first line treatments of exercise, prudence and balanced nutrition. Willful exposure and, empathetically-speaking, neglect over time requires slow adjustments through healthy behavior as God intended. There is no getting around this--even Jesus fasted and walked. Only sincere discipline is the answer to permanent health and wellness. Does this mean all adults should come off these hormones immediately? No--free will applies--but be forewarned of problems and risks. Satan tempts us with temporary satisfaction, but in the end, man cannot satisfy man.
Promoting Pathology. Imagine hormones injections for kids that enable permissive gluttony, massive-caloric intake, all day eating, unreasonable portion sizes and limitless junk foods. How does this build healthy teeth and bones, muscle mass, brain-capable learning and ideal immune health? It's one situation for a fully developed, brain-matured adult, but for minors, child abuse is offensive to God. Shame on the medical community for their tacit approval through outcome-based bonuses founded on medical models that promotes harm. In this temporary fix, adults are at risk for massive, rebound effects and hormonal disruption. Our kids and future generations will ask us--what happened, who was in charge and why didn't the educated and those with common sense speak up?
Do No Harm. This is a pro-life issue. If we truly believe in the Catholic faith, the 10 commandments and avoiding the 7-deadly sins; we must follow God's plan to become holier while bringing souls to God. Let us pray for temperance, the souls who promote big pharma and those caught in the web of this social experiment.
Jesus, we trust in You.
