Choice? What is it that I can't choose?

Choice?  What is it that I can’t choose?

When I was growing up and had to decide which group of kids to play with, that was a choice.  As I matured and had to make up my mind to which intramural sport was for my liking, that too was a choice.

Now as the school where I send my children has taken the audacity to tell them there is a choice as to which gender they want to be is not a choice but a corruptible offense against them and their parents as well.  We cannot continue to allow school officials and medical personnel to make the choice that is theirs to force by indoctrination upon innocent children who are just learning their ABC’s.  

During the holocaust of WWII where millions of Jews were murdered because they were Jews was not their personal choice.  It was taken over by the Third Reich where many of them were convicted and hanged by the trials at Nuremberg for their criminal choices of hate and murder.

October 7, 2023 Hamas attacked Israeli citizens killing numbers of innocent students, children who had their throats cut and so many other elderly Jews, because they are Jews were attacked.  The choice of Iranian nationalists made a choice that will place most at the mercy of God unless they make another choice to repent for their horrible deeds.

The candor of the factions these soldiers as mercenaries made a choice that stands as another criminal attack on innocent people, in this case Jewish, that will go down in history as a slap in the face of Almighty God since all humans are his children and have a right to make their own choice as to where they live, work, and worship their God.

As each of us is at a loss to do very much regarding the choices someone else has decided to inject into our society by political adherence that suits them alone we must continue to seek the grace of God by promoting the very generous plan of his Son, Jesus Christ, to Incarnate himself and take upon the eternal gift of eradicating our sin and accepting his Passion out of his love for us.

However, the choices these insurrectionists are making is prophesied in Sacred Scripture.  It is no surprise to me and anyone else who sees the judgment of God is soon to take force and bring about change to those who want to make our choice of freedom and peace difficult to have. 

“Seventy weeks are decreed for your people and for your holy city:  Then transgressions will stop and sin will end, guilt will be expiated.  Everlasting justice will be introduced, vision and prophecy ratified, and a most holy will be anointed.  (Dn 9: 24).

Thus I will display my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see the judgment I have executed and the hand I have laid upon them.  From that day forward the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God.  (Ez 29: 21 - 22).

Lo, a day shall come for the Lord when the spoils shall be divided in your midst.  And I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle:  the city shall be taken, houses plundered, women ravished; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be removed from the city.  Then the Lord shall go forth and fight against those nations, fighting as on a day of battle.  That day his feet shall rest upon the Mount of Olives, which is opposite Jerusalem to the east.  The Mount of Olives shall be cleft in two from east to west by a very deep valley, and half of the mountain shall move to the north and half of it to the south.  And the Lord’s mountain shall be filled up when the valley of those two mountains reaches its edge;  it shall be filled up by the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah.  Then the Lord, my God, shall come, and all his holy ones with him.  (Zec 14: 1 - 5).

Then I watched while he broke open the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; the sun turned as black as dark sackcloth and the moon became like blood.  The stars in the sky fell to the earth like unripe figs shaken from the tree in a strong wind.  They cried out to mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of theLamb, because the great day of their wrath has come and who can withstand it.”  (Rv 6: 12 - 13, 16 - 17).  

What is it that I can’t choose?  The Wrath of Almighty God!
