Who Are Those That God May Not Forgive?
Eileen Renders
We all know that our Creator loves us, is merciful, and forgives us. He died on the Cross, a painful death, to wipe away our sins. Why would there be some that God does not forgive/ God has said, “I AM in you as you are in Me”.
Through many years of serving God, I have come to understand through the grace of God. For many years, I believed in The Our Father prayer. “Give us this day our daily bread”, was to be taken literally. Through understanding, I have since learned that those words are not about food on the table, but food for the soul from the words of Christ.
Recently, a deeper understanding was given to me regarding the words of Christ when He said, “I AM in you as you are in Me.” For years, I also took those words for granted, believing it was an unconditional promise, and this may be true; however, not in the same context as I once believed.
Today, to my understanding, God is saying, He will be in us as we are in Him! It stands to reason, the more we repent, confess our sins, frequent the sacraments, and pray, He will more than return that love and remain in us and with us. So too, when we ignore His Commandments, commit sin, and refrain from the sacraments, He will be unable to live within us, and forgive without a sincere sorrow, and a desire to return to Him!
We are all given one day at a time for living and learning; we are never promised a tomorrow. These words are not meant to stir up anxiety or insecurity. On the contrary, knowing how making Christ our focus is not meant simply for seniors, and making the most of each new day, is a positive decision for all of us. God longs for us and desires to give us many graces and blessings, including joy, understanding, humility, health, and a discipleship in serving God by helping Him to bring in His sheep. All of life is terminal. Therefore, we are aware that the only future we can hope to gain is eternity in heaven with Christ! This future, however, is not unconditional.
