Nurturing A Deeper Relationship With God
LET Go, And Let God
Eileen Renders
How often do we, as humans, become frustrated when we have a problem that we cannot resolve? Yet being determined and frustrated, we continue to bump our heads into a brick wall, making no progress at all. This is usually the choice and actions of one who desires control over life and all that it has to throw at us.
While being determined can often lead to success, it can also, for some of us, be an overt attempt to maintain “control” over any or all circumstances that we oppose. This can create bigger issues. This, however, may be something that is God’s will, and therefore, we cannot take control of.
There will be times in all of our lives when we must surrender to God’s will, and “Let Go and Let God.”
We would be wise to surrender to God’s will, to pray and ask for the humility and ability to accept what is God’s will. There will always be other instances when we refuse to surrender to reality, and these could be God’s way of showing us that we are not respecting that it is only God who is all-powerful.
Satan is cunning and tempts us where he sees our vulnerabilities, such as pride, greed, envy, and more. For example, when we become very old, critically ill, and may die, we must submit and accept that our death is imminent. We can cry, curse, and attempt to bargain with God for more time. However, in the end, we must accept that it is God’s will. It is wiser to accept today what is God’s will and live our life to please our creator. God knows what is best for each of us, and when our life is done.
Who would not want to meet God on Judgment Day, knowing that we have not accomplished much success in our lives, but we have given our best, our all to God?
