When Trust becomes an Anomaly
The Lord, my God, Shall never leave me Alone
Whoever said that when the world’s upheaval appears against me then it is God’s fault? Well, just watch when anyone has a bad day, feels unrelenting pain, or has suddenly lost the success they once had; then I can say here is one or more persons that fits that description.
Supposedly when anyone runs out of human beings to validly blame there is only one person left; God! However, let’s for a moment look at Job. The first person who was close enough to him to make a convincing accusation was his wife. Then his wife said to him, “Are you still holding to your innocence? Curse God and die.” But he said to her, “Are you going to speak as senseless women do? We accept good things from God; and should not accept evil?” Through all this, Job said nothing sinful. (Job 2: 9 - 10).
This story must stand as the most intense narrative in the bible where so many characters insist that Job should blame God’s interference with Job’s disasters on his Creator. But isn’t that exactly what the human scenario does exactly when we don’t know who else to accuse for our
Disastrous life?
Then the Lord addressed Job out of the storm and said: “Who is this that obscures divine plans with words of ignorance?” “Where were you when I founded the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding . Who determined its size; do you know? Who stretched out the measuring line for it? Have the gates of death been shown to you, or have you seen the gates of darkness? Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth? Tell me, if you know all?” (Job 38: 1 - 2, 4 - 5, 17 - 18).
Yet, above all and beyond any comprehension man has never been able to super-ceed or even begin to challenge all that the Creator, God, established for his greatest creation; mankind. None of us, regardless of the trials we seem to encounter, has been able to overcome the world and its lack of understanding that is a reality as we journey through human life. If that were so none of the Apostles would have suffered death that was brutal. And we cannot forget that the Son of God was Crucified following his Incarnation through which he humbled himself to assume humanity for the one purpose of saving you and me from eternal death. However, it is difficult to find that many humans who are willing to carry the cross of torture, ignominous abuse, and a relentless end to human life that very few remember. Here is where the Father of heaven is right there with compassion and his hands of mercy wrapped around our bleeding heart of weakness that is his sign of everlasting love.
Walk through the chaos of life’s war-torn countries with citizens, who may still be alive, barely, or see the innocent children seeking out just a morsel of bread or especially water that is pure; now whom do we blame for all this? God? Visit any children’s ward of any American hospital with cancer patients, who can still smile because of a divine presence that looks beyond the pain and projected diagnosis for many of impending death. Look if you can!
We dare not put the blame on God, our Creator, who gave us life and a promise of eternity with him forever. On top of this is a love that has no bounds that is made for his greatest creation; human life; forever with the Trinitarian entity that IS without beginning or End.
With all of that unbounded existence that is ours, being prepared by Christ, the questions God addressed Job with do not matter since it is with the divine existence of our Creator, Christ himself, where our moment of acceptance will already be ours to have and share forever.
