Jesus and the Pharisees
There is a song out by my favorite Christian artist, Andrew Ripp, called "Breakdown". The words are so meaningful. While he gives you the image of terrible situations, he ends up saying, "Rock bottom is a firm foundation". No truer words were ever spoken about heavy trials.... He goes on to say," you see my friend, this is not a breakdown, it's a breakthrough, and this is not a midnight, it's a brand new morning when it dawns on the dark, no this is not a moment when it all falls apart, it's a beautiful place to start". I love those words. To me, it means a soul is finally surrendering to the wonderful Mercy of God, and is willing to listen to the Sweet sound of the Voice that will lift one out of the depths of darkness.
We could all find ourselves in "breakdown" situations. Falling to our knees in desperation because we just can't figure it out, or the earth that we stand upon feels like sinking sand, swallowing us up alive. That's when God can come to the rescue. He sees us and waits for us to realize we were wrong trying to go it alone and then admit it to Him. Asking Him to show us the way. He runs to us in haste and grants us His beautiful hand of Mercy, especially at the first sign of our S.O.S. The only doubt one feels is in ourselves. The insecurity of things tried on our own. We can never accomplish good without the Holy guidance of a Father that has created us. He knows all things. All remedies. He wants us to listen to Him and take His lead as He holds out the life jacket. It's the smart thing to do, especially when the "breakdowns" happen. We can become so lost in the darkness, but His shining light "breaks through", always. It's a beautiful place to start.
