Happy or Saved? Which do you choose?
He's trying. That old devil is trying to bombard us with all that is bad that is going on in the world. But, lying secretly under all of the torment our eyes behold, is the Sweetness of God. Troubles of all kinds hit the TV screen and radio with sorrow of what has become war-torn countries and splitting up of man against man, woman against woman, child against parent. This is not what our Lord wants us to remember. He wants us to keep His Love and Mercy before our eyes with the great Hope that recalls His sweetness that He generated all things from the very beginning with Love. He started our Ancestry with Great Love and consideration just like He does with everything. But we, in our pride have destroyed this wonderful sentiment. The choices we have made have infected wounds put there by negligence and our idea that we have the power. When we decide on choosing us as being the ones who control. The Sweetness of Surrender, of Peace, diminishes and we are left with confusion and with no direction heading us only down. Sweetness in our Lord only moves us up. Up to that Peace that only God can give. People were not created with sorrow or trials from a God so loving and merciful and sweet. It is the environment in which we all choose to live. All sick or poor or aged are not all unhappy if they choose to Glorify and Surrender their woes to a God who has counted every hair on their head. There are lessons in teachings and choices going on, whenever a trial occurs. We must always try to see the Sweetness of each, or bitterness and neglect can settle in. Jesus was also human. He was actually given the foretaste of His own persecution and death. He asked for the cup to be removed but knew the Sweetness of the purpose. Terrifying and ruthless as it was, He tasted the Cup of Salvation with strength and reliance, that the Father provided in the disintegration of an eternal death, that was pronounced free because of this Sweet Surrender.
We must always see the Sweetness of our God, who never ever, abandons us. Learning to go past the images that we see of the ugliness and sorrow the devil is so willing to place before our eyes. Remembering to push aside the dark and barren valley, to uncover the colorful, bright and joyful land of Paradise. It's there. All we have to do is believe.
