I know that I've written about repentance before (The heavens rejoice over your repentance), and, as I'm writing about about hoping for someone else's repentance, I think it would benefit me write about it again.
Also, I need an article and my eyes hurt, and I'm exhausted, anyway,
“Now when he had heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee. And leaving Nazareth he went and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, so that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:
“The land of Zebulun and Naphtali,
the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles-
The people dwelling in darkness have seen great light,
and for those dwelling in the region of the shadow of death,
on them, a light has dawned.”
From time Jesus began the preach, saying; “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”.
(Matthew 4:12-17).
Okay, so, here's something I noticed. Jesus was calling on those in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, to repentance. Okay, big deal, Jesus calls a lot of people to repentance. And it was specifically to fulfill a prophecy. Big deal, Jesus fulfills prophecies throughout the gospels.
But, here's one thing I picked up on, Matthew mentions those people having seen great light (if I typed it correctly, I have bad eye strain today, so I'm not always looking at my screen, while I'm typing).
But, the fact of the matter is, the act of repentance is directly correlated with seeing the great light.
And to those of y'all reading this, repent.
