God-like Forgiveness versus Human Forgiveness
The Flesh and Blood of the Son Of Man
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
Jesus was walking with a large group of followers and teaching them about the Kingdom of God. He began to teach them about His coming passing from this life and the food that is necessary to be in the Kingdom of God. Jesus said to his followers that unless you eat the Flesh and drink the Blood of the Son of Man, you will not have life within you. He also said that His Flesh is is real food, and his Blood real drink. This teaching caused many of his followers to leave Him, because they could not understand this concept. Jesus was, of course, speaking about his future Last Supper meal where He would consecrate bread and wine into His Body and Blood.
When a great multitude of his followers abandoned Him, He asked the disciples whether they would like to leave also. I believe Peter spoke and said, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” Our third grade class had this discussion under the guise of the facts that God is all-merciful, but God is all-just. The next sentence from Sister should be taken with a grain of salt. Sister said that all Protestants go to hell, because they have not received the Body and Blood of Jesus. To my third grade mentality, I was completely shocked. I gazed upon the crucifix and mentally said to Jesus, “That's all-merciful!! What if a person had not heard that teaching or heard a different explanation of that teaching and truly believed that interpretation. I hope that there is some wiggle room at your judgment seat for those people.”
On looking back over those years, I guess that the differing religious views other than the Catholic way, follow the people who abandoned Jesus. I pray for the mercy of God on their souls, and ask you, the dear reader, to pray for their souls along with all the fallen away Catholics that all my return to the one true fold, the Catholic Church.
Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Deo Gratias. Gloria Tibi Domini. Laus Deo. See you in Paradise.
