In Grief we mourn, but with the Light of Christ our fears turn to Joy.
Eternal Darkness; Prepared for those who Seek its Mystery
Jesus told his disciples; “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that lead to life. And those who find it are few.” (Mt 7: 13 - 14).
For those of us who have passed the age of 70 the thoughts of our past become a memory of different pleasures, disappointments, and a new beginning for the years ahead. However, one thing we have discovered is that there must be something much better ahead since we shall not be concerned with counting anything in eternity except the Lord Jesus Christ.
There are many scripture passages where the Light of God is addressed to his eternal being and we who are called into this Light will know what that brilliance of life is all about. When you reach the age in your late eighties and approaching 90 you no longer need a moment to plan ahead since we can feel the surface of life is calling us to something much better than the past. However, at this point we begin to understand just what this light will be like even though there is a veil covering the final curtain for us. The point here is that far too many, even if they live that long, are not concerned about what the presence of darkness holds for them. After all, they are living for the now and what they can accumulate in pleasure and greed. This is sad!
What awaits them in eternity, if this is what they have chosen, is an existence where they believe that after so many years or periods of what they assume is time, as we understand time on earth, will end and then they might ask for a retrial. Not so!
Darkness is the complete absence of light and without the light to keep us from tripping or falling into a hole we may end up with no way to get back on our feet and continue on our path. In eternity there will always be light; a Light that is from God since he is Light himself and there is no room for anything dark to penetrate it. If God is not to be seen or felt then light that is God will not be seen or felt in hell. That is a terrible decision to be made by the people who choose to be without God since the darkness of evil has corrupted their sense of righteousness and goodness which are the attributes of holiness; open to everyone but refused by those who are on the wide road to perdition. This is their choice, and once they die there is no returning since he can’t hear them anymore. It’s horrible that those who disbelieve the Light will for all eternity scream because of what they can never know Light again.
I now understand the scream I heard at 3 A.M. during prayer; and was told it came from the depth of hell.
