A Double Portion of Humility Please!
Too many 'other' churches believe that we see Mary as a false idol. They, perhaps are using this belief, as a way of saying the Catholic Church as an idol worshiper. Hoping perhaps that they can open our eyes to the "truth."
However, if they would look closely at all Scriptures that speak of Mary: they would see her not as someone to idolize; but someone to listen to, hear and obey the all words she spoke.
Luke 1:38 "Behold a handmaiden of the Lord---be it done according to Your will."
Luke 1 46-55 "My soul does magnify the Lord---My spirit rejoices in God my Savior."
So should our souls and spirits do the same so Jesus can still be seen alive in our world today. In our surrendering our lives to the Holy Spirit as she did---we too are able to bring Jesus into this world by obedience and living in love.
John 2: 5--"Do whatsoever He tells you to do." These words of hers started the role of Jesus to be the Son of God that the Father sent Him to this world to Be. Changing water into wine--His first miracle. When we too, the empty ceremonial jugs ----allow ourselves to be filled with His living Waters--then we too are changed and become the best wine. We too become blessed, broken and given---helping others by the gifts of the Holy Spirit power. Unless broken---gifts of Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge and Discernment will never be a part of our life. Think on this--so you can forgive others and yourself too.
Faith, Hope and Love also lie dormant unless we first walk on stormy waters of life and learn that we can TRUST in God with all our hearts! God will see us through all that we experience in life. We must have this faith and believe in God's Love for us. Mary's life was a difficult one, and she has shed many tears too.
Like Mary too, let us walk with others when they are carrying their cross or hanging on one. as they suffer in life. We too, as we carry our crosses God and Mary are there with us, always praying for us. No matter what traumas too, that come our way----God is always there to see us through. Even if death comes our way---if we believe in His love--Mary is praying for us; and God sees will see us safely home to live with Him forever.
Without Mary's Yes---we would have never known this love of God for us---or our walk with Jesus daily in our lives. No Mary--no Jesus--and so, NO salvation! In honoring her, we are honoring and praising the Work of God's Love for all mankind.
Mary is a role model, our mother too, as Jesus is our Brother---never should she be called a false idol or we idol worshipers. God sees all, and knows all--so please be careful of judging our love of the Blessed Mother.
“Henceforth all generations will call me blessed…” (Luke 1:48).
