A Liberal Arts Education Is the Answer to AI’s Dangers

Andy Kessler is right that our educational system is failing to prepare students in the age of artificial intelligence (“Is AI Making Us Dumb?,” Inside View, Dec. 8). But the solution isn’t to embed tech at the heart of the classroom. For all its promise, AI risks instilling in students an unthinking yet false understanding of themselves and society, destroying the morals and habits that make human flourishing possible. A liberal-arts education is what transmits such knowledge while preparing the next generation for AI’s proper use.
