Coldplay Affair and Reminder on 6th Commandment
On Tuesday, Pope Leo XIV blessed the Vatican’s official Nativity Scene. Every year, the Vatican’s display of Christ’s birth has a theme.
This year, it carries the theme of 40 Days for Life. It honors the church’s teaching on the sanctity of life and pays tribute to the prayer advocacy efforts of 40 Days for Life volunteers worldwide.
"It's so inspiring, and frankly, we've had a lot of bad news lately in America and around the world, and this display represents good news”. Shawn Carney told Fox News.
"So it’s beautiful news, it’s good news, and I think it's news that's being well received as we've had so much bad news the last few weeks," Carney added.
Paula Senoto designed this year’s nativity, which is on display now at the Vatican. Senoto is a pro-life volunteer from Costa Rica.
"This has to be something that the whole world knows about," Paula said. "[The pro-life message] needs to be communicated very clearly, and we need to pray a lot."
The Nativity Scene includes a visibly pregnant Mary. It is a reminder to remember all expectant mothers. Instead of straws, the manger is filled with 25,000 ribbons, each representing a baby saved from abortion due to 40 Days for Life campaigns.
“The Nativity of a pregnant Mary with an unborn Jesus "speaks to the scientific reality of the unborn child and the Biblical reality that Our Lord came through the womb," Carney emphasized.
"This is the biggest pro-life rallying cry that will ever be heard from the Vatican," Paula added.
The significance of the Christmas Creche is that it brings the pro-life efforts directly to the Vatican. It is a massive tribute to the prayer and advocacy efforts of 40 Days for Life volunteers worldwide, celebrating a successful year of saving lives.
This is the moment pro-lifers have been waiting for, and it is now on the global stage. After all, the birth of Christ is the most told pro-life story in history.
