Do our loved ones who have passed on know that
We think about them and love them?
Eileen Renders
This I know because Jesus told me so. Before I answer this question, it is fair to say to you how I know. Jesus has brought me through many Crosses, surgeries, and losses. Although I have good reason to believe in God, my faith was a gift from God. But that is another story and can be read in one of my published works, titled “Communication With and Messages from JESUS.”
Many of us often feel God’s word come to us through Holy Communion, prayer, and, of course, living life devoted to serving God while remaining free of mortal sin. Having said that, I have been dedicated to God through serving others, while remaining faithful to the sacraments for at least the last thirty-five years. At eighty-six years of age, I have a deep relationship with Jesus today. We all achieve that closeness with our Creator when we serve Him with love and a deep sincerity. We might serve Him through acts of kindness such as visiting those without family in Nursing Homes, providing educational health information to seniors at various Community Centers, teaching CCD, through my writings, and helping the poor whenever the opportunity arises.
Do I hear Him speak to my heart? Does Jesus often bless me with graces of wisdom, joy, peace, and love for others? The answer to all these questions is yes!
Those who hear Jesus do not hear an audible voice; we hear a message swiftly travel through our heart and mind, quicker than a thought, and not anything we expected to hear or understand. It is God's kindness providing His messages to messengers for the purpose of being shared with His remnant.
Back to the question, “Do our loved ones who have passed on know that we think about them and love them?” With my own thoughts about this today, and as Christmas draws near, I was remembering my parents, along with several siblings who have passed away. I hope they are in heaven. Then, as it has happened many times before, I felt the following words racing across my heart and through my mind. Jesus providing words of wisdom and comfort, saying, “In believing that your loved ones were faithful to Me, and My Commandments, feel assured, they now pray for you.” And He continued saying, “If you are not certain, pray for them.”
