In the fullness of the ages, God from God was bravely born,
Mysteries uncovered and a perfect love revealed.

Kneeling at the altar now before the manger scene,
See the baby lying in the straw.
In humility I bow to infant so serene.
Fills my heart with wonder and with awe.
Child is born in Bethlehem, the Bread of Life so pure,
Mother looks with love and sweetly smiles.
Such a holy requiem, my sweet salvation sure,
Savior who will face the greatest trials.

Soon to grow to face the cruel cross.
How could he who sleeps in hay become our saving plan?
Why should we receive from heaven’s loss?
