Saint Simon and St Jude Thaddeus, pray for us!
Definition of hidden: kept out of sight. Concealed.
Definition of treasures: valuable things.
Put them both together and what do you get? You get the "Holy Souls in Purgatory". Valuable treasures, hidden treasures to both us and God. They have been saved! But they have to wait. They wait to help us and they want to help us. It helps them in their helping us. By us asking for their intercession, we grow close to their aid in helping them attain their Heavenly Crown in Heaven. They have seen the Face of God with a promise from Him of "someday". I must always remind myself that God's time is not like our time. A day to us could be a hundred years to His. He is the ruler. The deemer of all Justice. The controller of all time.
I love the Holy Souls in Purgatory. They are my dear friends. All of them. The Mystique of their placement is only known to them and God. The level of cleansing is intense in any tier, or level, of Purgatory. The purification process makes them perfectly Holy and thankfully is not eternal, in their sufferings. There Spiritual refinement involving suffering from remorse and attachment to sin is dealt with in degrees. The more one has sinned, the longer it takes. The longer one stays.
But our prayers, fasts, offering up of sufferings, can help them! Masses that are said for them are great in their ladder climb to Heaven. God, in His Almighty Wisdom, helps the living and the dead. They help us and we help them. They die to their sins and the washing away cleanses them, so as to enter Heaven spotless like refined gold. The more we pray for them the faster they attain there Heavenly Crown, Heaven and the Holy Face of God forever.
Many short invocations can be said or prayed daily, hourly, at any moment. One is "oh Holy Souls in Purgatory, pray for me as I pray for you". Another, is the beautiful Saint Gertrude prayer, "Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of Thy Divine Son Jesus. In union with all the Masses said throughout the world today for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. For sinners everywhere. For sinners in the Universal Church. Those in my own home and within my own family". Another, "Eternal rest Grant unto them oh Lord, and let Perpetual light shine upon them. May their soul and all the souls of the faithful Departed through the sweet mercy of God rest in Peace".
Talk to them. Pray for them. They will love you in return, and someday, God willing, by the prayers of those that we have left behind, we may join them one day in Heaven
