Cracker Barrel and Lesson in Rejection of Modernism
December is almost over, let alone the year 2025. It is a time for many of us to pause, pray, and reflect on what transpired earlier in the year until now.
For many of us, it was a year to remember. Yet, some wished things were better. No matter where you stand, God has provided lessons that are applicable in 2026.
As 2025 is near its end and we welcome 2026 with much anticipation, let’s take a look back at what has transpired in the past year.
Christian Persecution is Real
Nigeria, the Middle East, Ukraine, Europe, and the United States have one thing in common, and that is God’s children are under attack. It is time to rise up and be willing to accept the consequences of following Christ. Whether it will be standing against Islamic invasion, the time to defend and act against attacks on Christendom is now.
Never Celebrate One’s Death
Charlie Kirk, Rob Reiner, The Hoffmans, and Hortmans of Minnesota were just the countless names of senseless acts of violence. These people were a part of different viewpoints. Sadly, many used their deaths as an opportunity to spew hatred and celebrate their deaths. Just stop. Every person who exists is a child of God, yet they are not perfect. Mourn their loss and pray for their soul.
Engage with Humanity
Since becoming Pope, His Holiness has challenged us to take a bold step in challenging the technological apparatus brought about by Artificial Intelligence. During a gathering in November, he urged them to never replace human intelligence with AI.
Human encounter can never be replaced with anything artificial. Rather, the human heart can set the world aflame when it encounters those who are isolated due to fear or loneliness brought about by the brokenness of our culture.
He also took a step further to utilize the ever-changing development of technology to stay connected with others.
Hope Like the Saints
As the Year of Hope concludes under the 266th successor of St. Peter, the jubilee year gives us many holy reminders to hope in the lord’s coming. St. Paul reminds us, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” (Romans 15:13).
Step into the Breach
The devil is working day and night to destroy everything God has created. He is even corrupting the clergy to do his bidding. Catholics must step into the breach to defend their church, life, family, and all that will move the world.
If there is an army of pious and God-fearing men equipped with sacramentals, a rosary, and after God’s heart, the world will change.
Sure, there may have been more lessons from 2025. Let us ponder on what has transpired. Let us pray without ceasing as we give thanks to God for what he has done in our lives. Let us also be willing to accept from God what he will bring to us in the New Year.
