A time to get our future in order - A continuation of government control of our lives
As we reminisce on Christ’s Birth reflect on why he came
Read and understand some of the verses that reveal this Solemnity: Not by appearance shall he judge, not by hearsay shall he decide, But he shall judge the poor with justice, and decide aright for the land’s afflicted. (Is 11: 3b - 4).
In the fullness of time, chosen in the unfathomable depths of God’s wisdom, the Son of God took for himself our common humanity in order to reconcile it with its creator. He came to overthrow the devil, the origin of death, in that very nature by which he had overthrown mankind. (Taken from a sermon of St. Leo the Great; from the Office of readings for Christmas day).
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world did not know him. He came to what was his own, but his own people did not accept him. But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name. (Jn 1: 1, 10 - 12).
Before we celebrate the New Year of 2026, let us not suddenly shelve this Mystery of a Virgin Birth for the redemption of all of us. Christmas and its forgiving entity is with us for all days into eternity and will become the Light of Christ to remove the darkness of sin so the Glory of Christ may be found.
