Countless are the blessings
David was a complex figure in faith. His sins which deemed him as an adulterer and murderer overshadowed for a long time his greatness as the second greatest King of Israel. He is an ancestor of the Messiah, as was Saint Joseph in the line of blood family. God and His knowledge tries everyone. It doesn't matter if you are a King or a pauper. Everyone is tested by Free Will and we must be as strong as David in our Faith in God and His forgiveness. David did not deter in this belief. Only tempted. That old serpent has been doing this since the beginning of time. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. And in David's case, he fell and fell hard. But the strength of his faith in the one true God, the one true forgiving God, saved him. Sorrow in our sins with true repentance is all God asks of each of us. If we are remorseful and truly sorry, our God is not going to turn a deaf ear to our plea. God does not enjoy anyone whom He created to be lost. I'm sure it pierces His Holy and Sacred Heart when one slips by.
King David was as great then as he is now. In the lineage of our Lord, he showed us power and loss and then power again. As our example of what kind of God we have if we believe. Life's struggles can be hard. But like David, a boy, slay the giant Goliath, so too, we can slay the Goliaths of our time. All we have to do is just have Believe in the King of Kings, the one that David even knew was above his own throne.
Good King David, intercede for us
