Say His Holy Name, Jesus

     Say His Holy Name in praise! Say His Name in prayer! Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! His Name is above all other names and we celebrate and honor it today! There is power in the Name of Jesus. And too often it is said carelessly, as one lets it pass the lips without thought. In movies and media especially. I cringe when I see an actor say it on the big screen without the reverence it should demand. Written into the script like an ordinary word. Then forcing the role to be played out, including with its numerous curse words or in a scene of violence . Shame on them and the industry for letting young adults, children, hear His Holy Name being used with such irreverence. 

     Jesus's Name is all reverent. He is a King. So one must say it with dignity toward our Ruler and  most wonderful Father. Never carelessly said with disdain or anger. You never hear people using anyone else's name, so don't you think it's unusual that the Name of Jesus is picked to yell out in the mix of other curse words that are said? 

     Beware! It is a tactic of the evil one who lives to disrespect our Lord. He tells the world whose children are listening that it's all right. Just like he did in the garden of Eden. Whispering in the ears that it's a meaningless word so go ahead and say it with no respect, no consequence.

    The Third Commandment has been written. "You shall NOT take the Name of the Lord your God in vain". It forbids blasphemy, cursing and using His name disrespectfully or frivolously. It should be honored through proper speech, oaths and actions. 

     So then let us today, the Third day of a New Year, make it a goal, to uphold and respect Jesus Christ's Holy Name. A Name where every knee shall bend at its word, in Heaven and on Earth. 

    Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I love You, help me to love You more. Help the world know your Holy Name and respect it with the Honor and Glory that You deserve. In the Holy Name of Jesus, I ask this of you.
