2025 Election Preview
Since 1979, the Ayatollah has dominated Iran. With its rule, it coerced women into submitting to Islam. Women were forced to wear a burqa and hijab in public or face harsh punishment. It is even illegal to be a Christian in the nation. Now, the tide is turning. Women have begun to push back in many ways around the country.
First, women burned the hijab, a piece of clothing that was mandated throughout the nation. Now, women are seen burning it.
Videos have even surfaced of a mosque being burned down by those who have been oppressed by the Islamic religion.
St. Edith Stein reminds us, “The world doesn’t need what women have, it needs what women are.” Women want freedom. They don’t want to be forced to adapt to something that compromises their feminine genius.
Now, in the United States, it may be hard for liberal women who embrace abortion, immigration reform, and other issues that they deem to be a “right”. With the revolution overseas becoming a turning point, it is hard not to consider what defines freedom and what doesn’t.
Women in Iran were suppressed and had to submit to a radical regime. Meanwhile, women in the United States accepted an ideology called feminism, and it has destroyed what God created. For decades, we’ve had attempts to redefine human rights in America.
Fulton Sheen reminds us that there is no freedom, "Except in the service of what is good and just. The choice to disobey and do evil is an abuse of freedom and leads to 'the slavery of sin.'" In other words, if we truly want to fight for freedom, we must do what is right and just in the eyes of God.
Feminists who care about freedom should look at what is happening in Iran and take note. Then, they need to evaluate how they have been fighting for freedom.
Women in the United States have suppressed themselves from greatness, thinking that they are better off being a CEO, a cat lady, or even better than men. That’s not how God created us.
Pope Benedict XVI reminds us that a true woman preserves “the deep intuition of the goodness in their lives of those actions which elicit life and contribute to the growth and protection of the other.”
Women of the United States, you’ve been lied to. You’ve blindly followed an ideology that is destroying your soul. It is time to embrace Christ.
