The Archangels

     Saint Michael, Raphael and Gabriel are so instrumental for us in our daily struggle against evil. It's like we have our own personal bodyguard, physician and mentor standing right by our side, anytime we need them. Separately, they are mighty. Together, they are powerful. The legions that back them and stand beside them are in multitudes. It's like when in battle on the field. There is the head sergeant, leading and directing and calling out orders, with the medic close by with the proper tools to bandage up the wounds, and the messenger with the radio, taking instructions from the head of war, ready to translate to the troops. 

    What great comfort we get when we ask their intercession and help! They want to help! They're ready to help! The Angels of Heaven and Earth help us fight our battles. They know we cannot do it merely by ourselves. In union with our own private Guardian Angel, the protection is endless. 

     Our beautiful Catholic Church encourages the veneration and honoring of Angels, but distinguishes this from the worship due to God alone. We as Catholics, believe Angels are Spiritual creatures, created by God Himself to act as Messengers and Protectors. We must thank them daily as they intercede and guide, protect and teach us. The Beloved Angels are honored through veneration (respect) rather than adoration, which is reserved only for God. Saint Augustine says, "Angel is the name of their "office", not of their "nature". If you seek the name of their "nature", it is "Spirit". With their whole being the angels are servants and messengers of God. Because they always behold the face of God. As purely Spiritual creatures, Angels have intelligence and will. They are personal. They are immortal. Surpassing in perfection all visible creatures, as the splendor of their Glory bears witness to the greatness of God. 

     Call upon the Angels often. Daily. Tell your sweet Guardian Angel you love him and to relay messages of love to Jesus, Mary and all of the Saints in Heaven. 

     With the troops being headed by Michael, Raphael and Gabriel, we stand behind a mighty Legion of protectors and warriors who are ready and willing to always fight for us. 

     Oh Holy Archangels, Saints Michael, Raphael and Gabriel, we love you! Guide us and protect us!
