February 2026 Feast Days and Sunday Reading Guide
So Super Bowl 60 has come and gone. It wasn’t the matchup many sports fans were hoping for, as it was low scoring up until the final quarter of play. Trust me, I thought the game was boring as well.
Both defenses kept the game in check until Seattle took advantage of turnovers and miscues to put it all away for their second franchise title.
While fans also offer their take on the commercials they liked or disliked, another tradition that happens during the Super Bowl is the much-anticipated halftime show.
In July, it was announced that Bad Bunny would headline the halftime show. It sparked much criticism as Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, and a native of Puerto Rico, shot his mouth off about American politics. He went on to criticize ICE. It didn’t end there.
During the halftime and as video surfaced from attendees of the event, people stood around, yet there wasn’t much dancing as the fans looked on. He went on to talk about having love for countries. Yet, if anyone has learned Spanish for a profession or as a way to understand the dialect, he joins a long list of performers who have promoted promiscuity and anti-American messages. One example is his hit song “My Aunti Asked Me,” which included these lines: “let the ones I already f–ked smile” and brags about a girl who “came by plane” from Barcelona and says his “d–k is fire.” Is this what our children should be exposed to?
Meanwhile, Turning Point countered the satanic and perverted Super Bowl halftime with an encore of its own. Some of the musicians who took part were Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett. The show also paid tribute to the organization’s late founder, Charlie Kirk, who was killed while speaking on campus in Utah.
During the simultaneous performances and depending on which one viewers watched, Bad Bunny and Kid Rock offered us a choice.
Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, closed his performance by encouraging everyone to “Dust off their Bibles and find Jesus”. This comes from someone who was once on the side that engaged in self-gratification and then wanted to seek Jesus after what he had been through.
Truly, we must make the hardest decision. While Ocasio (Bad Bunny) gave a message to love and not hate (often used as a political weapon), he has fallen short of honoring God in all that he does.
Now, we all sit at the crossroads. Do we choose Christ? Or do we choose to love self-gratification?
Do pray for Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio and Robert James Ritchie. Also, pray that you follow Christ.
