I do not like to make New Year’s resolutions because my good intentions usually evaporate by mid-month. But there was one resolution I made decades ago that I continue to keep – because I recognized (and recognize) how vital that resolution is to my spiritual health and growth.
For more than 40 years, I have read at least two chapters from the Old Testament (OT) and two from the New Testament (NT). I divided the readings into one sitting in the morning, and one sitting in the evening. Each sitting takes about 15 minutes, or a total of 30 minutes each day. That pattern gets me through the OT about once a year and the NT three times in a year.
Periodically, I promulgate my Bible Reading Plan to encourage others to read their Bible each day. Although my plan can be started any time during the year, since we are at the beginning of a new year, I thought to publish it again. You can find the entire post at this link: http://bit.ly/2cv5cee.
A God-blessed 2017 to all of us and our families!
