Five Reasons Real Books Still Matter
On the Shawn Ryan Show (3/5/2026) Father Chad Ripperger stated that the layout of Little Saint James, Jeffrey Epstein's private island, "suggests it was heavily involved in occult and satanic ritual activity".
Fr. Ripperger—a well-known Catholic exorcist—indicated that the physical arrangement and design of the island’s structures provide evidence of ritualistic use. He linked the Epstein case to a broader context of satanic ritual, using his perspective as an exorcist to interpret the reported events and locations associated with the island.
Jeffrey Epstein's former private island, Little St. James, bears a religious name and is weirdly cruciform in its shape. It seems it was the perfect place to practice the occultic and demonic inversion of the holy.
At the south end of the island, sitting atop a cliff and facing south, is a very strange building that most people refer to as "Epstein’s temple." It is a white, cube-shaped building with eight large blue stripes, capped with a golden dome. On the corners of the roof stand three statues. Two are large golden birds: one a bird of prey, the other a scavenger. Both birds are carnivores and not immune to cannibalism.
The third statue is of the Greek pagan god of the sea, Poseidon. The structure is a mishmash of pagan and Christian symbolism; all of it is borrowed, and none of its design is original. Demons cannot create; they can only change and distort existing creation. In the twisted and conflicted mind of Epstein, everything was chosen with purpose. Symbolism translates to power; therefore, everything "means" something else.
Consistent with his lack of commitment to truth and honor, the deception began with the official building plans. The original plan submitted by Epstein called for an octagonal building designated as a "music hall." What, then, is the significance of an octagon? Why was it changed to a striped cube? We do not know why the building turned out to be much larger and a different shape than the blueprints required. We can, however, speculate that the eight stripes were a way to make up for the loss of the octagon shape while keeping the number eight highly visible.
There are many examples of the octagon used in Christian worship (for example, octagonal baptismal fonts are common). The word "octave" is used in liturgical calendars to denote a period of eight days set aside as holy time. In the early Church, the Sabbath was changed to Sunday, and Sunday went from being the first day of the week to the "eighth day." This concept focuses on Easter Sunday as the beginning of a new creation. In rising from the tomb, Jesus defeated death and broke out of time, becoming eternal; thus, union with Him is the way to eternal life.
In occult and esoteric traditions, the octagon is significant as a transitional bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. It is viewed as the intermediary shape between the square (representing earthly stability and matter) and the circle (representing the divine and the celestial spirit). In the dark, inverted mind of Epstein and his associates, the number eight could have been a symbol of eternity or a marker of a portal into a supernatural world outside of time. The temple was, in essence, a sort of "time machine" celebrating death as a portal into the eternity of hell.
With the use of stripes, Epstein seemed to want his temple to signal an alternative to law, order, and the Christian faith. Historically, the "discordant" striped pattern was associated with outcasts, heretics, and the "lawless" (prostitutes and criminals). This is one reason why prisoners wore black-and-white stripes. In this context, the stripes may function as a visual manifesto against established moral and ecclesiastical order.
In Catholic architecture, the dome is a symbol of the "Celestial Sphere," i.e., heaven. A dome's circular nature represents eternity and the perfect realm of God. Its apex serves as a vertical axis pointing toward heaven. This is why, in many Eastern churches, the interior of the dome features Christ the Pantocrator.
A dome resting atop a square or cube resembles the union of divinity and humanity—the coming together of heaven and earth in the person of Christ.
The fact that the dome was gold is also significant. In the Byzantine tradition, a gold dome evokes the light of Christ. In the Roman Rite, the gold dome is often associated with Mary. The color scheme of white, gold, and blue is a nod to the Marian dimension of Catholic liturgy. Think, for example, of the golden dome over the administration building at the University of Notre Dame.
What was Epstein’s demented thought process in mimicking this specific color scheme? Is this the "Ancient Dragon" taunting the Woman with whom he has a bitter enmity (see Gen 3:15 and Rev 12)? We know that in the end, God will not be mocked. Epstein’s dome and statues were violently ripped off the building during a 2017 hurricane and were never recovered. Ultimately, God through nature provided a moment of poetic justice...the name of the storm was Hurricane Maria.
In the Catholic world, statues serve as sacred art to connect the imagination to the holy. They are never objects of worship themselves. There are several biblical instances where God commanded the making of statuary: the golden cherubim atop the Ark of the Covenant, the bronze serpent in the desert, and the carvings of angels in Solomon’s Temple.
Since they were situated on a temple alongside Poseidon, it is safe to assume they conveyed a hidden religious meaning known only to the initiated.
The two large, golden, bird-like statues appeared in aerial footage as early as 2015. Unlike the protective Cherubim whose wings covered over the Ark, these are carnivorous scavengers. One appeared to be a gold owl and the other a large gold raven, representing death and "night wisdom." Within recent disclosures, there is innuendo regarding the consumption of human flesh—moving from conspiracy theory toward a grim reality. Might these ominous birds have been set up as guardians for such acts?
Claims linking Epstein to the worship of deities like Moloch or Baal are speculative, but they are grounded in disturbing facts: he had a statue of Poseidon atop his temple and he named a bank account "Baal." Historically, Baal was worshipped through human sacrifice—the younger and more innocent the victim, the better. Worshipers believed the innocence of the victims generated more spiritual power.
Surrounding the perimeter of the temple is a large paved area with cement "benches" set by the cliff. Were these benches or altars? On the ground are several labyrinths. While often found in Christian cathedrals as tools for meditation, labyrinths also have a long-standing presence in occult traditions as tools for spiritual initiation and "earth energy" work.
Like dark magic, the large, wooden doors to the temple were a deception. This is called trompe l'oeil (French for "deceive the eye"). It is an art technique using realistic imagery to create an optical illusion that a 2D surface is 3D.
In a dark twist, the locks appeared to be on the outside, "keeping people in." Perhaps the symbolism is that once you make a deal with the devil, you have sold your soul and there is no turning back. You have transgressed the forbidden doors and are now a spiritual prisoner. The actual entrance was a glass door on the south side; one would have to walk around the temple, absorbing the sinister symbolism, just to enter.
The interior consists of one large room with two distinct levels: a slightly elevated section accessed by a single step. In the biblical temple, there were two areas (the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies) separated by a veil. Catholic churches have the nave and the sanctuary (usually a platform with three steps, not one).
A piano technician who visited in 2012 recalled furniture, an elaborate ceiling mural, and mattresses. Strangely, a portrait of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell having a papal audience with Pope John Paul II hung above the grand piano. Why would a Catholic Saint be featured in a pagan temple? Was this some sort of trophy? Was this a sign of Epstein asserting dominance over the one true faith, much like the infamous painting of Bill Clinton in a blue dress in his New York apartment?
Born Jewish but never practicing, most thought of Epstein as an atheist. However, criminals seek money through typical means; they do not build temples or formal liturgies. Epstein's operation centered on worship and satanic occultism. He routinely mocked Christians. In one disturbing case, he referenced a young girl who called upon Jesus, writing that she felt God's presence and knew "Jesus watches over her... Whoops!"
In a conversation with Steve Bannon, Epstein dismissed Jesus as "just a carpenter" and abruptly ended the discussion. When Bannon asked if he thought he was the devil himself, Epstein replied with a creepy grin, "No, but I do have a good mirror." Like most psychopathic narcissists, he likely spent a great deal of time looking into that mirror. It probably wasn’t Satan staring back, but the empty shell of a man who had long ago sold his soul.
