Dealing with Adversity
In your eyes, oh Jesus, I see the welcoming of the promise of Paradise that You proclaim to all who love You. In Your eyes, oh Jesus, I see the refreshing Peace of forgiveness and Mercy to all who surrender to Your loving care.
The Eyes of Jesus are healing. He emits His truth when we look deeply into them, as lovers do, at that first sense of finally finding their true love. His eyes comfort those whose tears fall hopelessly at times of sorrow or trial. His eyes seem to fill with those same tears, assuring us that we are not alone in our sorrow.
In your eyes, oh Jesus, we are secured of comfort. We can go on. Till you call us, to that moment when we can behold them infinitely. You bare the eyes of your Mother Mary. From which She bore you into this world for all to see. Your eyes are the eyes of God. From which no mere mortal can behold, until purified like spun gold. Even the Angels of Heaven cast not their eyes upon you unless you deem it so.
May I see Your eyes, oh Jesus, in everyone I meet and smile as they gaze upon mine. With a hopeful prayer, that they also catch a spark of You in me.
