When Faith Fills Us with Abundance
For this series, we will be exploring the fourteen works of mercy. In the They come from Matthew 25: 31-46 based on the final judgment.
In the first part, we will explore the first corporal work of mercy and some practical ideas to practice the work of mercy.
The first work of mercy reminds us to feed those who may hunger. While it is good to remember those who are hungry for food, we must never shy away from those starving for the word of God.
Christ reminds us that he will satisfy those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6).
Even St. Augustine yearned and hungered for Christ until his restless heart rested in Christ.
Some ideas to practice feeding the hungry
· Serve a meal at the soup kitchen
· Take part in homeless outreach that gives food to the beggars on the street.
· Give to a charity or food bank that helps those who can’t afford food
· Start a meal chain for moms who recently had a baby
The next will cover Giving Drink for the thirsty
