God, Give Us Patience
The Lord Knows Better

In the Gospel this week, Mary and Martha wanted Jesus to heal their brother Lazarus before he died. Instead, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Similar outcome, but different means of accomplishing what Mary and Martha desired.
There’s a lesson in this for us that so it is with the Lord. The Lord knows better what will most fulfill the desire of our hearts. Sometimes it doesn’t look like what we are praying for. Sometimes it’s a different means of accomplishing the goal and desire of our hearts.
I have had this happen more than once to me, and I know that it's how the Lord works time and time again.
The Lord knows better what will fulfill those desires and what will bring us lasting joy. Our challenge is to trust that He does know better and is working all things for our everlasting good.
Just like He did in raising Lazarus and Jesus from the dead.
