News broke this week that Kermit Gosnell, a notorious serial killer, died in prison.
Gosnell operated an abortion facility in the Mantua section of Philadelphia. It was there that he engaged in late-term abortions while catering to poor black women. He also ran illegal pills.
According to faithful pro-lifers who prayed there every month, they would pray for an hour, but they saw no woman entering the facility.
As time went on, pro-lifers in Philadelphia discovered that Gosnell was running his operations at night when no pro-lifers would be outside peacefully protesting.
In January 2010, Gosnell was arrested by the authorities for running an illegal drug operation at his clinic. As the police searched the property, they discovered specimens of babies murdered alive after surviving late-term abortions. It would later be described as a "House of Horrors". Medical examiners would find that their spines were snipped by Gosnell. Even a woman died after being induced with too many drugs.
Gosnell was charged with seven counts of first-degree homicide. Three of them were thrown out, and Gosnell was acquitted on a fourth.
He died at 86, yet the babies he murdered that were supposed to exist would never live a life intended by God.
The Gosnell case was the subject of a 2015 documentary, “3801 Lancaster: American Tragedy” (the title referred to the clinic’s address), and of a 2018 feature film, “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer.”
This is just another reason why abortion must be unthinkable.
