Would you be willing to be a Martyr?
There is nothing more precious than to see a child walk slowly and reverently up to a Blessed statue of Mary and crown Her with flowers! Easing the sword of sorrow, Simeon had foretold to this young girl, so long ago. Mary still carries that sword which pierced Her pure heart, but the flowers that adore Her head, eases that pain and She blesses all of humanity with this one sweet act of Love.
May is Mary's month. A month of dedication to Her as our Mother to all humanity. No one is left out. She is a Mother to us all. Her protective mantle covers us with a gentle reassurance that She is here and always will be. Under so many titles, the one that will always be first is "Mother". In the Heavens and on Earth, we thank Her as being a wonderful role model of how a mother should be. The Angels adore Her as She sits on Her throne by Jesus Her Son, by God Her Father, and Her Spouse the Holy Spirit. Protective and loving, She honors us as our Mother, as we honor Her with all of our respect and all of our love to Her, as our Beloved Mother.
When, in dire need, She runs to us as we ask Her to be our Mother. She does not hesitate for one moment. She places our petitions in Her Holy hands. The same hands that held our Jesus as a newborn baby and also as He laid crucified. The purity of Her sweet hands makes it just that. Purified. God is never ending in His Love and Mercy for us and proved that by giving Her to us as our Mother.
Lovingly, She looks at us with the same eyes that She beheld and still beholds Her Son Jesus. Never ever turning away from us, as she claims us as Her children.
She is our Refuge. She is our Hope. She is our Mother. Let us honor Her in this month of May and always. Loving Her with a childlike, trusting Love that only a "child could give " to such a tender and loving Mother.
Oh Mary! Be a Mother to us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
