That thorn in your paw
Dear Saint Rita,
I'm writing to tell you I love you. You are an inspiration to me. And I consider you one of my dearest friends. At such a young age, the age of 12, you were forced into a pre-arranged marriage. How could you have known what to do? How to act? You were still a child. Thrown into an adult situation, but still enduring all that life brought to you because of your faith in God. The man you married, gave you 18 years of marital abuse. Within those years you had two children. Two boys. Having to sustain an ill-tempered husband, you had to bury both boys because of disease. Your life long quest for your husband was to continue to calm him and convert him to God. Tell me beloved friend, how did you do it? Ah! Your great love for God and your trust in Him! You are an inspiration to me. You trusted, even though times were impossibly tough and to put it quite plainly, impossible. I'm blessed to know you. Myself and others who know you, love you too. So many who believe that their trials are impossible to cope with, through your intercession are able to endure. Your friendship to me is treasured. Please intercede for me always and ask God to grant me unwavering Faith, the way that you had. Please tell Him I love Him. Sometimes it's hard for me to trust when the dark hour hits and the lightning booms all around me. But you are the sweet Saint of the Impossible. A caring, loving friend. Make possible in me what I deem hopeless. Light my path when the darkness tries to consume me. Speak to my heart when I feel alone. You are a friend forever and like I said before, " I love you ".
St Rita of Cascia, pray for us!
