The man who crowned Charlemagne
If we read about the capture of St Joan of Arc (May 23 anniversary) the human economics are mind-boggling.
Across salvation history, the world has attempted to assign opportunity costs to souls that God declares priceless. Our Savior was betrayed for a handful of silver. St Joan of Arc was sold for an overflowing wagon. Planned Parenthood sadly, extracts its price per pound. Imagine on judgement day, how they will justify their math to the holy face of Jesus. Below are mental gymnastics.
Jesus Christ’s 30 Pieces of Silver
St Joan of Arc’s Ten Thousand Livres (1000 lb of silver)
An innocent soul being knit by God in the womb (costs increase with trimester, AKA pound)
Conclusion
Some believe a life's worth can be reduced to a transaction. Correction, we are temples of the Holy Spirit. St Catherine of Siena believed He dwells in the blood. IDK if that is all. He might also be in our DNA (see link for scientific rationale). Regardless, our bodies don't matter. Every soul's worth measures beyond human logic. Worth is not measured in metal or human paper but in the ineffable God who created us.
A Soul's Worth
Christ’s 30 pieces, Joan’s 10,000 livres and the modern lives of kids;
all point to a single truth.
The world weighs life in silver, while God weighs life in love.
The value of a soul, is not calumny or circumstantial worth.
We use a Cross — not silver or gold -- and the beauty of His blood.
