Relics in a book
You don't have to travel to Tahiti or somewhere overseas, to have your own personal deserted island. There's one located right inside your heart. No one else owns it but you. You and God that is. He's your main companion on this deserted island with you. He's a great companion to have, especially when those weary nights get long, searching for food or shelter. He helps you gather firewood to help with that fire of the Holy Spirit and He protects your shelter from the heat and cold with His Love. He's an excellent companion . Telling wonderful bedtime stories to help you fall asleep. He always greets you in the morning with a peaceful smile and words of encouragement whether the day sees dark clouds in the sky or hot looming sun that brings sweat to your brow.
Your own desert island has many delicious fruits to eat. In fact, there's an abundance of them. There is love, courage, peace, fortitude, knowledge, and oh so many more. They fill you so completely, that you're hungry heart is sated up to the brim. Your days are filled with satisfied labor as when coming to the completion of the day, you sit and watch the crackling fire with contentment that your sweet companion is there with you. Peace fills your heart and you dream of the next moment of the new day where you will find Him again. He has been on watch all night. Protecting you from anything that could have threatened your life, or your dreams. The last thing you see before you sleep and the first one who awakens you, is Him. He's been waiting for you, and that makes you smile, because really, you had been waiting for Him also.
Your deserted island doesn't mean deserted. It means it's only yours and the one who loves you the most. Our Jesus. He is the island, He is your refuge, He is your home.
